The Bothy at Glenshee Glamping

We provide pretty much all you need

Here at Glenshee Glamping we offer the use of a traditional Scottish bothy that over the years has been modernised as a shared kitchen and food prepping space for our guests. With banquet style table and benches our bothy is where country Kitchen meets scandinavian dinning hall and its cosy fire offers our guests a place to relax, unwind and meet other glampers. Located opposite our reception area, the bothy is the first building you meet on the left as you arrive to check in and is available for you to use throughout your stay with us.  Please note: The Bothy is restricted for use of our Glamping Guests only, if you are camping then you have sole use of the Campers Kitchen and Sink Shack.

Enjoy breakfast in the Bothy, cook up a warming meal or prepare a packed lunch read for a day exploring in glenshee.

Each pod has a small selection of Tea & Coffe for your arrival, however, you will want to stock up on every day food essentials such as milk, bread, and maybe some bacon if you plan to make a traditional scottish breakfast.

What is a Bothy? A common question we are asked here at Glenshee Glamping.

A bothy was a basic shelter / accommodation that were usually left unlocked and available for anyone to use. Ususally found in remote, mountainou areas of Scotland, the word Bothy originates from the Gaelic word 'Bothan'

The Glampers Bothy dates back to 1812 and is the original sleeping accomodation for the farm workers, it's thick stone walls now enclose a great space for cooking and dining or simply hanging out.

We provide pretty much all you need:
knives and forks,
pots and pans,
mugs, glasses and plates

With 2 sinks for washing up and a safe area for you to cook using our two gas hobs or microwave oven.  Plus small electric oven - perfect for Chips or Pizza! There are two fridges and a freezer to keep your food and drink tip top.

With electric sockets for charging, radiators & a wood burning stove with clothes drying above, the Bothy is a toasty warm place to chill even when it is snowing outside.

We stayed for 4 days in August, camping in our tents. We've done quite a bit of camping and this is definitely an excellent campsite: small but great attention to detail. The bathrooms were nicer than any I've seen in a campsite - hotel quality and kept spotless. The view across to the hills was fabulous. Although we had our own cooking equipment, it was v handy to have the Bothy: a well-stocked kitchen/dining room with fridge and freezer, plugs for charging phones.

We stayed in the two person pod. It was warm cosy and nicely furnished. We faced out onto amazing views with the donkeys and llamaa right up close. .The bothy/kitchen had everything you would need if yiu were cooking and the bathroom/toilets were large and spotless. The hot tub which we lay in under a blanket of stars was amazing. Helena and Nathan the owners were so friendly and helpful and all and all this was an excellent glamping experience
