Autumn Hints & Tips for Glamping in Scotland.

Top tips and glamping accessories to enchance a slow living exprience.

An escape during the October holidays is the ideal time to sneak in a couples break, A family holiday with the kids and grandparents or even a group getaway before winter.

Living in the beautiful Glens, we love a season change and we feel quite prepared to offer a wee tip or two on what you might want to bring with you for total Autumnal ambiance.

  • Toasted! What is October holidays if you don't have marshmallows to toast on an open fire pit, We say its for the kids but it's a firm family favourite!

  • A lil Pumpkin! We don't mean the type you need to carve. We were thinking more, in a sugar syrup form, at the bottom of your coffee cup! Since we have the most beautiful views from the porch of our pods and a cafetiere in each accommodation, its the perfect morning coffee combo!

  • Layering! As a glamping location, we are still firm believers in still looking the part on a glamping holiday. We love the sunny afternoons, fresh mornings and chilly evenings, so bring your cosy knits, scarfs and slipper boots to keep it casual but practical.

  • Dry Robe! Since paddle boarding took off during the summer, dryrobes are everywhere, but they have more use than just by the loch or beach! Our outdoor hot tubs are hugely popular during the October holiday, what a better way to enjoy the night sky in the Glens whilst soothing in a wood fired hot tub. Bring your dry robes to make your way back to your pod in comfort and style!

  • Better Light than never! Throughout our camp site and glamping haven we have carefully placed trail lights to make navigation around the site easier during the evenings, especially so you can find your way to the toilet blocks or to the Wood-fired Hot Tub and back. However, if you are a late check-in, to save you fumbling around in the dark making sure you have everything you need out of the car, we would recommend bringing a torch. You never know when one would come in handed but we would definitely say a trip camping in the heart of the cairngorms would be the time to have one to hand.

Beautiful surroundings, and views. We stayed in the Blackberry Hut with our dog and the accommodation was roomy, comfortable and well equipped. The toilet and shower facilities were immaculate (and warm!). The Bothy had everything you need to cook, and was also very clean and well stocked. Dog friendly, plenty of walks and lots of wildlife around too. We will definitely be returning!
